Today, Bhagirath Public School witnessed an inspiring and eco-conscious event as students and teachers came together to inaugurate the tree sapling plantation programme under the noble initiative, "Ek Pedh Maa ke Naam 2.0", launched by the DIOS (District Inspector of Schools). The campaign is scheduled to run from 5th June to 30th September 2025, echoing the message of love, respect, and responsibility towards Mother Earth and our own mothers.
The school campus was buzzing with energy and green enthusiasm as students, armed with saplings, shovels, and watering cans, planted trees with care and dedication. Teachers joined in wholeheartedly, guiding and encouraging the young eco-warriors. Each tree planted symbolised not just environmental sustainability but a heartfelt tribute to motherhood — a beautiful blend of emotion and action.
In her brief address, the Principal, Ms. Deepti Rawat, emphasized the value of such initiatives in nurturing compassion and responsibility among students. "Planting a tree in your mother's name is not just a gesture of love, but a pledge to protect life," she remarked.
The programme concluded with a collective promise by all present to nurture the trees they planted and continue being agents of change. The green drive will continue over the coming months, with weekly plantation activities, eco-talks, and follow-up care for the saplings.
At Bhagirath Public School, every leaf planted today whispers a story of gratitude, growth, and green dreams for tomorrow.
